No Compromise: The Life Story of Keith Green

Back in 1977, my two older sisters brought home "For Him Who Has Ears to Hear", Keith Green's first Christian album. Even then, as a young teen-ager, I thought the album cover was dorky. But when they played the record on the stereo, I was blown away.

I became a life-long Keith Green fan.

When he died in a plane crash in 1982, I was co-hosting a Christian radio program with my youth pastor. We dedicated the entire show that week to the life and legacy of this remarkable Christian minister, missionary and musician.

In college, the music and writings of Keith and Melody Green influenced my own musical and evangelistic ministry as my brother, sister and I formed the Christian rock band "Insight". We played primarily in the northeastern United States, but thousands of young people committed their lives to Jesus Christ as a result of God's grace and our efforts -- inspired, in large measure, by the ministry of Keith and Melody Green.

Keith Green had a direct impact on my life and ministry -- and on the lives of hundreds of thousands of others. Someone once said that the proof of ministry is the enduring fruit. This is true in the life and ministry of Keith and Melody Green, which has touched millions of lives, both directly and indirectly for more than thirty years.

And now the legacy continues as Thomas Nelson Publishers releases an updated version of Melody Green's biography of Keith, titled No Compromise: The Life Story of Keith Green.

After the tragic plane crash it took Melody several years, but a book about Keith's life and ministry was released in 1989. Melody had no way of knowing that the original release of No Compromise would end up in the hands of more than half a million people of all ages around the world.

Now, almost 20 years later, Melody gives Keith Green fans a revised and expanded 25th Year Special Edition of No Compromise: the Life Story of Keith Green.

"In this book, they get to meet the man behind his music," says Green. "I fully believe that if Keith had not lived before the Lord as he did, his songs would not live on today."

Now, on the 25th anniversary of his death, Melody has expanded and updated her husband's biography with many added stories and insights, never before published photos, extra selections from Keith's private journals, and glimpses into Melody's season of grieving and raising their two surviving children on her own.
