Christian Living

Off to Israel tomorrow...

…for a number of shoots “in the land” with people who live under constant threats of annihilation. How do they do it and why do they want to live in an environment that includes gasmasks and bomb shelters as part of daily life?

Also, an interview with a former Muslim, who converted to Christianity and was attacked with acid by other Muslims.

Numerous “street talk” encounters with people asking about their views of Israel as a “chosen people,” their knowledge of the Scriptures, (Israel is predominately a secular society) and whatever other surprises we might encounter.

Thanks for the prayer.

In regard to the up and coming election. A wonderful Bible scholar and mentor of mine, Derek Prince, lived many years of his life in Israel and died there a number of years ago.

Here is what Derek said and prayed in the early days of October 1980. It is till applicable today:

“I am specifically praying myself that in these coming weeks, somehow or other, the power of witchcraft over the political processes of the United States will be broken and the political processes of the United States will be released from that evil spiritual dominion which has been becoming increasingly dominant in those processes for several years past. Remember to pray. Ask God to show you how to pray. Remember to cast your vote, and don’t be afraid of the battle. “They that be with us are more than they that be with them.”

“Almighty, God, our Heavenly Father, we come to you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, redeemed by His blood, committed to serve and follow Him. We come to You as Your believing people, Your representatives in this earth, the agents of Your government in the earth. We lift up to You this nation of ours, the United States. We thank You for the many centuries of special grace and mercy that You have granted to this nation. We thank You for the godly seeds that have been sown over the centuries by people of faith who have followed in Your footsteps—labored, sacrificed, prayed, and given for Your kingdom.

"We also pray, Lord, for the relationship of the United States to Israel. That You will keep Your hand upon it and that You will also guide and overrule, to the benefit of Israel. That this nation will not turn against Israel or take its stand among the enemies of Israel. That You will graciously use this nation continually to support and uphold Your people, Israel, and their State.” (Derek Prince)

Thanks all, and a full report with accompanying stories when I return in a couple of weeks.
