Obama to Deliver State of the Union Speech Jan. 25

It looks like President Obama will deliver a State of the Union speech Jan. 25.

Today, House Speaker John Boehner formally invited the President to do so, sending him a letter.

Speaker Boehner said in his letter that recent events are a reminder of the imperfect nature of democracy, but that the ideal that government exists to serve the people is cherished.

"Even in the wake of tragedy, we must never waiver from our obligation to carry out their will and provide solutions to keep our nation moving forward," Boehner said.

The speech will take place in the House chamber where a joint session will convene. And, this year we'll hear "Mister Speaker, the President of the United States!"
