God is the Creator of all and His presence is exalted in and through nature. Dig into God’s presence in nature with these scriptures.

The Creation of Nature

  • And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light… NIV
  • Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. NIV
  • And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky. So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind... 0-21 NIV
  • And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground and the wild animals, each according to its kind… 4 NIV
  • Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish of in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground” 6 NIV

 

God’s Glory and Presence in Nature

  • They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty – and I will meditate on your wonderful works. NIV
  • Let the trees of the forest sing, let them sing for joy before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. NIV
  • Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy. NIV

 

Examples of Nature

  • After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own tree! NIV
  • The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground – trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. NIV
  • Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths, lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding, you mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds… NIV
  • I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit. NIV
  • The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. NIV
