A Gender Fluid Royal Baby? Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Say 'Totally False'

The royal family says a report alleging that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will raise their firstborn child "gender fluid" is "totally false."

Kensington Palace issued a rare statement to The Sun this weekend denying the rumors. 

Vanity Fair reported last week that the duchess told close friends she and Harry "won't be imposing any stereotypes" on their child. 

"Meghan has been talking to some of her friends about the birth and how she and Harry plan to raise their baby. Her exact word was 'fluid'," a source told Vanity Fair. 

The report even said the Sussexes opted for a gender-neutral nursery and stayed away from traditional colors like pink and blue. 

However, the royal family unequivocally denied the claims. 

Meghan is reportedly due to give birth in April. She became pregnant not long after marrying Prince Harry in a show-stopper wedding that captured the attention of viewers in the UK and the US. 

The couple invited US Episcopal bishop Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry to speak during their wedding ceremony. 

Markle has been quiet about her faith. She was raised as a Protestant but attended an all-girl Catholic private school in Los Angeles called Immaculate Heart High School. 

Before becoming a royal, she was baptized into the Church of England in a private ceremony.
