Entertainment outlets are reporting Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have mended fences. TMZ published photographs of Selena walking into her home Sunday, only minutes after Justin and other mutual friends had arrived.

The new supportive friendship comes three years after their stormy breakup. Selena is also recovering from kidney transplant surgery, an operation made necessary because of her battle with lupus.

Gomez's friend and fellow actress Francia Raisa donated her kidney.

Us Weekly Magazine quotes someone close to Gomez saying, "Selena is simply trying to make peace with Justin after her illness. He has been great to her since her surgery and they are on good terms right now. They got back in touch recently through their friends and have seen each other at church."

Bieber is a known member of Hillsong Church, and is frequently seen in the company of Carl Lentz, the pastor of Hillsong's New York City congregation.

Bieber is also friends with Judah Smith, who pastors City Church in Seattle. Pastor Smith also flies to Los Angeles every week to conduct services that routinely draw young celebrities, like Justin and Selena.

The rekindled friendship is not considered romantic. Gomez is still dating singer The Weekend. He has been on tour, and is supportive of the friendship between Selena and Justin.
