Home Depot may be the latest retailer to suffer a major credit card data breach.

On Tuesday, the popular home improvement chain said it's working with banks and law enforcement to investigate "unusual activity" that could indicate someone hacked into their system.

Several major retailers have had their security walls breached in recent months, including Target and others.

Home Depot says it will notify customers immediately if it finds out its system was compromised.

"Protecting our customers' information is something we take extremely seriously, and we are aggressively gathering facts at this point while working to protect customers," Home Depot spokeswoman Paula Drake said.
