What many people do not know is that every night for the last 20 days, there have been huge riots in West Bank towns.
Again tonight sozens of masked young Arabs hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at police, in Shuafat; residents of Isawiya threw rocks and Molotov cocktails at Border Police in the Arab village.
In A-Tur, Arabs threw firebombs at a Border Police force, causing damage to a police vehicle.
Riots were also in full swing in Bethlehem and other cities.

The US is considering canceling flights to Israel after a rocket fired from Gaza caused damage and wounded a civilian in the city of Yehud, which is just over five kilometers from Ben-Gurion Airport, Channel 2 reported.

Netanyahu addressed the issue of Hamas digging terrorist tunnels "to penetrate our territory," saying, no country could sit idly by; it would exercise its right to defend its citizens.

The IDF released on tuesday the name of fallen soldier NCO Ohad Shemesh, 27, from Beit Eliezer. Shemesh was killed in action on Monday from enemy fire in the Gaza Strip.

A vehicle carrying seven soldiers was attacked on July 20. Six of their bodies have been identified and efforts to identify the 7th soldier are ongoing.

Air raid sirens sounded in the greater Tel Aviv area and around the airport again Tuesday morning. Several blasts were heard in the area. One rocket hit the city of Yehud, which is just north of Ben Gurion Airport. One woman was injured by shrapnel and another suffered person suffered from shock.

IDF Report: since the start of Operation Protective Edge, over 2040 rockets and mortars were fired at Israel. Of them 1,570 hit Israel and 396 were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. The IDF has targeted over 2,924 terror targets.

President Barack Obama repeated on Monday that Israel had the right to defend itself against rocket attacks from Hamas militants but he said, "We have serious concerns about the rising number of Palestinian civilian deaths and the loss of Israeli lives, and that is why it now has to be our focus and the focus of the international community to bring about a ceasefire that ends the fighting and that can stop the deaths of innocent civilians."

The IDF on Monday released declassified photos showing how Hamas uses hospitals, mosques, and playgrounds as rocket launch sites, from the northeastern Gaza City neighborhood of Shejaia, which has been the scene of heavy fighting in recent days.

IDF forces exposed access points to a Hamas tunnel in Shuja’iya. Terrorists planned to use the tunnel to commit an attack in Israel.

Moments later, Hamas terrorists opened fire on the IDF forces. IDF soldiers killed 2 of the attackers.

An Israeli tank shell hit the third floor of Al-Aqsa hospital in the central Gaza Strip on Monday, killing four people and wounding 16, Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qidra said.

The spokesman said the third floor housed an intensive care unit and operating theaters. Other shells had fallen around the hospital, he added, with officials calling on the Red Cross to help evacuate patients.

The United Nations Human Rights Council said it would hold an emergency session on Israel's two-week-old offensive in Gaza on Wednesday at the request of Egypt, Pakistan and the Palestinians.

Sirens sound throughout Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Rishon Lezion, and the Shfela region. Audible explosions heard above Tel Aviv. At least two rockets successfully intercepted. No reports yet of injuries or damage.

Update to attempted tunnel infiltration this morning: The Shin Bet sent an alert to the IDF hours before the attack, warning of intentions of terrorists in northern Gaza to infiltrate the country.

The Shin Bet said a serious and complex terror attack has been thwarted "due to the readiness of the IDF on the ground, following the pinpoint alert that was sent."

The IDF on Monday announced that Staff Sergeant Moshe Malko, 20, from Jerusalem, was among the 13 Golani soldiers killed in action in Gaza early on Sunday morning.

A rocket landed next to a house in Sderot, causing a fire. There is damage to the building, but no bodily injuries. The fire is under control.

The name of a sixth soldier out of the 13 Golani soldiers who were killed in Gaza yesterday has been cleared for publication: Max Steinberg, originally of Los Angeles. Steinberg was a lone soldier who was living in Beersheba.

2 terrorist squads infiltrated Israel through a tunnel from northern Gaza. An IDF aircraft struck 1 squad and other IDF forces killed 10 terrorists.

Police have closed roads in Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council near Gaza border due to feared security incident. Possible infiltration.
Roads closed include Route 4 and Route 34. Residents of Erez, Nir Am, Ra'im, Ein Hashlosha were instructed to stay in their houses, according to Channel 2.

IDF Ground Forces continue to advance to positions in the northeast Gazan Shejaia area overnight between Sunday and Monday, and took part in heavy exchanges of fire with terrorists in the area.
An IDF unit killed 10 terrorists in exchanges of fire. A number of tunnels have been found in the area, and Hamas has attempted to hinder the IDF's tunnel destruction work by opening fire on the army.
Three soldiers were injured in exchanges of fire overnight.

"The members of the Security Council expressed serious concern about the growing number of casualties and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities...The members of the security council called for an immediate cessation of hostilities," Rwandan UN Ambassador Eugene Gasana told reporters, after an emergency meeting of the 15-member council.

6:30 p.m. EST
Hundreds of Jordanian demonstrators near the Israeli embassy in Amman chant "Death to Israel" as in protest, call on Hamas to step up rocket attacks against Israel, avenge civilian deaths caused by Gaza offensive.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas calls on the international community to protect Palestinians and to put an end to the "bloodshed" in Doha, Qatar, where he met with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon.

Unconfirmed report: A spokesman for Hamas' armed wing is claiming on Sunday the terror group had captured an IDF soldier during fighting in the Gaza Strip. The IDF has not commented on the report yet.

Thousands of demonstrators staged a pro-Israel rally near the country's embassy in London. They waved flags and held placards supporting Israel's Gaza offensive against Gaza. The Zionist Federation organized the event.

Last night, 13 soldiers from the Golani Infantry Brigade fell protecting the people of Israel. Among them: Maj.Tzafrir Baror, 32, Cpt.Tsvi Kaplan, 28, Sgt.Gilad Rozenthal Yacoby, 21, Sgt.Oz Mendelovich, 21, Sgt.Nissim Sean Carmeli, 21.

There are reports online that Hamas is claiming they have captured an IDF soldier. The IDF has not given an official response, but said they are looking into the claim.

Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the country Sunday night. Below are some of his statements.

We send our condolences to the families of the fallen. There is no battle more just than that in which our boys fell.

The operation will expand as needed until quiet is restored in Israel.

We knew from the beginning that it could be a long-term operation, but the "eternal people" aren't scared of a long journey.

We have international support in our mission to defend ourselves.

Hamas built two systems to attack Israelis: tunnels and rockets. The IDF has destroyed the rocket system in Gaza. The ground operation is working to destroy Hamas's ability to attack Israelis through their tunnel system.

Our current operation to discover Hamas tunnels is much wider than past military activity, and we've found tunnels that could reach kindergartens or kibbutz dining halls. If we hadn't discovered the tunnels, the results would have been very grave indeed.

Soldiers, the people of Israel are behind you and are praying for your safe return. We're doing all we can to protect the soldiers and the citizens of Israel.

The IDF announced on Sunday evening that 13 Israeli soldiers from the Golani Brigade were killed overnight between Saturday and Sunday.

The Arab League described Israeli attacks on Gaza that have killed at least 60 Palestinians on Sunday as a "war crime". Nabil el-Araby, the head of the Cairo-based Arab League, considers Israeli shelling and ground attacks in Shejaia in northeast Gaza a "war crime."

US Secretary of State John Kerry called on Hamas to consider a ceasefire. "It is important for Hamas to now step up and be reasonable and understand that (if) you accept the ceasefire, you save lives," he told Fox News.

Despite Hamas’ continuous fire, the IDF has agreed to hold fire in Shuja’iya for an additional hour.

Less than 45 minutes into the ceasefire and despite the IDF’s agreement to the Red Cross’ request for a cease fire in Shuja’iya until 8:30am EST, Hamas continues to shoot rockets from Shuja’iya, one launch location being near the hospital.

The IDF announces that it will be setting up a field hospital outside the Erez crossing. It's main purpose will be to serve women and children and will include a delivery room.

Four additional injured soldiers were admitted to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer on Sunday. Two of the soldiers were seriously injured, one was in moderate-to-serious condition and the fourth soldier was moderately hurt.

Saturday, July 19

12:00 p.m. EST
Israel says that during its first 24 hours on the ground in Gaza, its troops discovered 13 tunnels into Israel that could be used to carry out attacks.

The military said it thwarted a second infiltration attempt through such a tunnel, killing one terrorist and forcing the others to return to Gaza.

The Palestinian death toll has now topped 300.  Meanwhile, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon heads for the Middle East today to try to broker a ceasefire.

Today the IDF facilitated the transfer of five trucks carrying 100 tons of medicine and supplies via the Erez crossing en route to hospitals in Gaza.

Since IDF ground forces entered Gaza on July 17, they have killed 70 Hamas terrorists.

Amotz Greenberg, 45, of Hod HaSharon were killed when Hamas terrorists attempted to enter Israel through a smuggling tunnel Saturday morning; two other soldiers were injured in the incident.

A short time ago, five rockets were fired at southern Israel. Four were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, and one struck a residential area in Ashdod.

For the second time today, the Iron Dome intercepted two rockets above the Tel Aviv area.

From midnight to mid-morning Friday, Israeli troops attacked more than 100 terror tunnels throughout the Gaza Strip. Explosions are still being heard in Gaza City.

An armored IDF unit in Gaza saw two terrorists preparing to fire anti-tank missiles. IDF soldiers opened fire and removed the threat.

From the IDF: We neutralized 14 terrorists, an additional 13 terrorists surrendered to the IDF and were taken for questioning. We destroyed 21 rocket launchers, carried out 9 strikes on tunnels and hit a total of 103 terror targets.

Israel is engaging Hamas on the ground and in the air from the north, south, east and has just sent messages to the journalist in hotels on the beach to evacuate.

Wednesday, July 16

3:30 p.m. EST
Israel agrees to 5 hour ceasefire deal with UN that will be in effect between 3am and 8am EST on Thursday. The questions still remains whether Hamas will agree to the ceasefire or ignore it.

So far today, Hamas has fired 94 rockets today. 37 of them hit Israel; 23 were intercepted by Iron Dome.

2:50 p.m. EST
Israel has agreed to cease fire for 6 hours on Thursday to allow UN requested aid into Gaza. Hamas has not yet replied to the request.

2:20 p.m. EST
Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon said, "The IDF's activity is systematic and its objective is to hit the Hamas in such way that its leaders will notice the level of destruction that we have brought on them and will understand that it was a mistake to attack the State of Israel."

The United Nations has appealed to Israel to halt its military campaign for six hours so as to allow its aid workers to bring humanitarian supplies into the Gaza Strip, Channel 2 reported on Wednesday.

Israeli officials are leaning toward accepting the UN's request, according to the report.

Palestinians reported that Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip killed at least three in the early hours of Wednesday and destroyed the house of top Hamas political leader Mahmoud Zahar - who is believed to be in hiding elsewhere.

The name of the first Israeli casualty has been released. Dror Hanin, 37, from Beit Aryeh was killed after being struck by shrapnel from a mortar shell near the Erez Crossing earlier in the day.

The IDF was sending messages to residents of the northern Gaza Strip late on Tuesday, advising them to evacuate their homes as part of Israeli efforts to avoid causing harm to civilians during strikes.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu addressed the country following a mortar and rocket barrage launched at Israel from Gaza that killed an Israeli civilian near Gaza.
Netanyahu said, "We made the decision to approve a cease fire proposed by Egypt," said the PM, "If Hamas and Islamic Jihad refuse to accept [a ceasefire] we will respond with great force. That is how we responded this afternoon hitting a great number of targets. If there is to be no ceasefire, our answer is fire".

Almost one and a half hours after the propsed ceasefire, Hamas sends a heavy barrage of rockets into southern Israel, sending residents in more than 10 cities back to their bomb shelters. 1 rocket was intercepted and       one landed in a yard in Ashdod. No reported injuries.

The IDF is now holding their fire.
“In according with the government directives, the IDF now holds fire,” say IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner. “We remain alert and preserve high preparedness levels, both defensive and offensive. If the Hamas terror organization will fire at Israel, we shall respond.”

After Israel accepts ceasefire, sirens begin sounding again in the south. 2 rockets hit in Eshkol. No injuries reported.

A senior Hamas official says his group rejects the Egyptian proposal for a cease-fire with Israel, according to AP.

Hamas appears to have rejected the proposal for Gaza ceasefire.
               “No official or unofficial side has approached us about the ceasefire talked about in the media… (but) if the contents of this proposal are true, it is a surrender and we reject it outright,” the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades says in a statement. “Our battle with the enemy will intensify.”

Sirens sounded again in Tel Aviv area as several explosions were heard overhead.

The IDF has just announced that since the beginning of Operation Protective Edge, 980 rockets have been launched at Israel. Iron Dome has intercepted 200 rockets and the IAF has struck 1470 sites in Gaza.

Hamas fires a barrage of rockets at Ashdod. A young boy was lightly wounded from shrapnel when one of the rockets fell in a yard next to a house, also setting a car on fire. 4 other rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome.

Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, claimed responsibility for sending a drone from Gaza into Israeli territory Monday morning.

Hamas tries to send an armed drone to target populated Israeli neighborhoods. The Patriot missile battery shot down the drone in an open area around Ashdod.

Syria fired a projectile into the Golan Heights and the IDF responded with targeted strikes at the Syrian army.

US Secretary of State John Kerry speaks to Prime Minister Netanyahu about the growing US concern over escalating tensions on the ground in Gaza.

As rockets were being fired from Gaza at Tel Aviv, sirens are also sounding in northern Israel. Rockets were launched from Lebanon.

Sirens are sounding again in Tel Aviv area. Two rockets are reported to be intercepted.

As rockets continue to be launched at Israel from the Gaza Strip, President Shimon Peres says "there can be no compromise with terror".

Hamas fired a rocket to Ashkelon that critically injures a young teenage boy.

The IDF has begun alerting tens of thousands of residents in northern Gaza to vacate the area ahead of more intensive IAF attacks on rocket launchers and commanders there.

Sirens sound all around central Israel, including Ben Gurion Airport.

8:50 p.m. EST
The Israel Navy raided a facility from which Hamas fired many long-range rocket at Israeli cities, the IDF said. During the raid, the commandos were shot at by Hamas gunmen, and returned fire. "The facility was hit and damaged," the army said.

2:15 p.m. EST
Over 10 rockets were just fired at Tel Aviv. Most of the rockets were shot down by Iron Dome. Others landed in open areas. No injuries reported.

1:30 p.m. EST
Hamas warns Israel, in Hebrew, they are going to send a barrage of rockets at Tel Aviv around 2 p.m. EST.

As Shabbat is coming to a close, Jerusalem residents find themselves running for the bomb shelters as the sirens ring through the streets. 
The IDF has confirmed that the 2 rockets fired towards Jerusalem have landed in Bethlehem and Hebron.
