Police say a Palestinian attacker sprinted up the road, swinging his knife, stabbing people at random for nearly 20 minutes.

He injured at least 12 people and killed American graduate student, 28-year-old Taylor Force.

Force was a first year MBA student at Vanderbilt, according to university officials, and was visiting Israel on a school trip.

He was also an Eagle Scout and a graduate of West Point, who served tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Stuart Force, Taylor's father, said Wednesday the 28-year-old business student was an avid skier and guitar player who loved horses and ranch life after a childhood in Texas.

Force was finishing his first year of business school and wasn't yet sure what he was going to do when he graduated.

"He just wanted to further his education and explore more of the civilian side of life," Stuart Force said.

Taylor's Dad went on to say it would be an understatement to say he was immensely proud of his son.

"He really fit it all in," Stuart Force said. "He lived really large."

While visiting Israel this week, Vice President Joe Biden voiced his support for Israel and weighed in on the attack.

Vanderbilt is planning a memorial service for Taylor Force next week.
