President Barack Obama endured a grilling from Fox News host Bill O'Reilly in a pre-Super Bowl interview Sunday.

The president traded barbs with O'Reilly on everything from healthcare reform to the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

He expressed regret over his failed promise that people could keep their health insurance plans if they liked them. He also said his administration moved quickly to fix the disastrous health care website.

When asked why the administration spent several days blaming an anti-Islamic video for setting off the Benghazi attack, the president went on the defensive.

"We revealed to the American people exactly what we understood at the time," Obama told O'Reilly.

"The notion that we would hide the ball for political purposes when, a week later, we all said, in fact, there was a terrorist attack taking place the day after, I said it was an act of terror -- that wouldn't be a very good cover-up," he added.

The full interview with the president and O'Reilly will air tonight at 8 p.m. ET on Fox News.
