Legislation aimed at demolishing President Obama's health care law and defunding Planned Parenthood is set to be approved by the Senate as early as Thursday.

Should the House later pass the bill, congressional Republicans would then face a veto battle with President Barack Obama.

It's not likely a battle they would win, but it will send a strong message as both parties look toward the 2016 presidential and congressional elections.

The White House says the bill would take away critical benefits and health care coverage from families.
