House Bill Demands 'Brotherhood' Be Called Terrorists

The House Judiciary Committee has approved legislation calling on the State Department to label the Muslim Brotherhood a foreign terrorist organization.
Lawmakers voted 17-10 along party lines Wednesday, with Republicans supporting the measure and Democrats opposing it.
Supporters say if it's signed into law, the United States would deny admittance to people who are tied to the Brotherhood but aren't U.S. citizens.
The bill would allow the Treasury Department to require U.S. banks and financial institutions to block transactions held by the Brotherhood. Individuals providing material support to the group could face criminal penalties.
The Brotherhood says it's a peaceful charitable and political group. But Saudi Arabia and Egypt consider it a terrorist organization.
