Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham, wants you to join him in praying for the nation the day before Election Day.

The prayer event is scheduled to take place on Facebook live, Monday, Nov. 7 at 9 p.m., ET.

"The Bible tells us that 'The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much' ( )," Graham wrote on his Facebook page. "Jesus also tells us to 'keep asking' and gives us an example in a parable in Luke chapter 18 of a widow who repeatedly went to a judge asking for justice, and finally the judge responded because of her persistence. Our pleas and our petitions do make a difference."

Graham, who is calling this upcoming election "the most critical election of our lifetime," is also urging Christians to make their voices heard at the ballot box.

"In the last presidential election, it's estimated that 20-30 million Christians stayed home," he recently said. "We can't let this happen again! The future of our nation is riding on this election: religious freedom, the Supreme Court, protecting the unborn and our families, and so much more."

"The Christian voice needs to be heard on Nov. 8," he continued.

Graham believes this election will affect this generation and ones to come.

"Let's pray together that our nation will turn back to God and that He will heal our land," he said.
