Guest chaplain Lt. Cmdr. Tavis Long opened a House meeting on Capitol Hill Monday with a prayer "in the name of the one who can truly set us free, my Savior."

It's been two weeks since the U.S. Supreme Court upheld sectarian prayers at government meetings, but the chamber is still accustomed to non-sectarian prayers.

Even so, Long, a Baptist chaplain who was filling in for House Chaplain Father Patrick Conroy, also prayed that Congress would be "ever mindful that in that last day, we must all give an account."

Long is a Navy chaplain who graduated from Florida's Pensacola Christian College.
