Government attorneys in Pennsylvania are appealing injunctions against Obamacare's contraceptive mandate granted to religious groups.

On Tuesday, Department of Justice attorneys asked the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to review cases involving Geneva College and various Roman Catholic organizations.

In each instance, judges found the mandate violates the organizations' faith. One ruling allows Geneva College to exclude birth control from its health plan coverage.

A different judge also determined that forcing Catholic entities to offer birth control could harm the organizations, causing decreased donations, loss of employees, and fines that could force the closure of some church programs.
