Trump: We all Believe in the Phrase 'Made in America'"

President Donald Trump said the "rebirth of American industry is beginning" as he pushed his tax plan to the National Association of Manufacturers Friday.

"Our current tax code punishes companies for doing business in the United States and encourages them to leave," said President Trump.

Trump says his tax proposal would change that and encourage companies to stay in the United States. It would also allow companies to fully write off the cost of new equipment the same year it was bought.

"We are fighting to create fair and reciprocal trade for American companies," said Trump.

The $6 trillion plan would simplify the tax system and cut the corporate tax rate from 35 to 20 percent while recommending a surcharge on the wealthy. It also creates three individual tax brackets with rates of 12 percent, 25 percent and 35 percent.

"We are all here today for the same reason, we believe in that beautiful phrase: 'Made in the USA,'" said Trump.

It's been 30 years since the last major tax reform was passed. Republicans are hoping to move forward with tax reforms to benefit Americans since they haven't been able to repeal and replace Obamacare.
