Jimmy Carter to Headline Detroit Muslim Convention

Former President Jimmy Carter plans to be the keynote speaker at a Muslim convention in Detroit this Friday.

According to the Toledo Blade, the Islamic Society of North America, or ISNA, is hosting the annual event.

CBN News has reported ISNA is the nation's largest Muslim group with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, Al Qaeda. and Hamas.

White House officials have praised the organization as a pillar of the American-Muslim community. ISNA leader, Mohamed Mageed, has also been an adviser to the Obama administration.

This year's conference theme is "Generations Rise: Elevating Muslim-American Culture," and speakers will offer ideas for advancing Islam in America over the next five years.
