After three years, a man in Arizona has been convicted for the shooting death of Border Patrol Agent Brian A. Terry.

Manuel Osorio-Arellanes was sentenced to 30 years in prison Monday for killing Terry during a December 2010 confrontation along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Osorio-Arellanes was part of a group of illegal immigrants accused of entering the United States to rob drug traffickers.

The guns from the scene were traced to a botched government gun-tracking operation known as Fast and Furious.

"We do not celebrate this sentence today, but we acknowledge justice," Robert Heyer, Terry's cousin and chairman of the Brian Terry Foundation, said.

Osorio was the only one arrested that night. Two remain fugitives and the United States is still trying to extradite two other suspects in Mexican custody.

Upon completing his sentence, Osorio-Arellanes will be deported to Mexico and permanently banned from entering the United States.
