In Alaska, free pregnancy tests will soon be available in restaurant and bar bathrooms.

The Anchorage Daily News reports the effort is part of a new campaign by the University of Alaska to prevent pregnant women from drinking.

Alaska has the highest rate of fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) in the country and Alaskan women of child-bearing age are 20 percent more likely to binge drink than the national average.

The $400,000 program starts December 2014 and will span over two years.
