Two more abortion clinics are closing in Texas after failing to comply with a new anti-abortion law that passed last summer.

The clinics are located in McAllen and Beaumont and are the last remaining in rural areas, according to the National Journal.

"It is clear Texans are no longer willing to accept the predatory practices of abortion providers who fail to place the value of a woman's health and safety or the life of a pre-born Texan in greater importance than their own personal financial gain," Melissa Conway, spokeswoman for Texas Right to Life, toldThe Star-Telegram.

The new law requires doctors performing abortions to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital.

The number of abortion clinics in the Lone Star State has dropped by more than half since the state began passing new restrictions on abortion in 2011.
