The ice-bucket challenge that's been sweeping the Internet has raised tens of millions of dollars to fight ALS, a degenerative nerve disease.

However, some Christians have concerns about where the funds are going.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Richmond, Virginia, is telling all state parishes and Catholic schools not to send money to the ALS Association.

The diocese said the association uses embryonic stem cells in its research, which the diocese says violates the sanctity of life.

The diocese said donations should instead go to groups that use only adult stem cells for research.
