Severe turbulence jolted travelers Monday on a United Airlines flight from Denver to Billings, Mont.

A sudden drop as the plane was about to descend put five people in the hospital, including three crew members. One passenger saw an infant fly from a mother's arms and land in another seat, scared but unharmed.

"It felt like something came up from the bottom and hit the bottom of the plane. The man in front of me flew up out of his seat and actually hit the ceiling," passenger Grant Linde said.

"Stuff and people were flying all over the plane," passenger Laurel Linde recalled.

Four of the five people hospitalized in Billings have been released. One flight attendant remains in critical condition.
