Children as young as elementary school age are having to deal with the oppression of their religious freedom.

This past Christmas season a California teacher told a first-grade student to stop talking about the Bible.

According to the student's lawyer, it happened while 6-year-old Brynn Williams was giving a speech about a Christmas tradition at home.  It was part of a school assignment.

The young girl decided to give a speech about the Star of Bethlehem that adorned the top of her family's Christmas tree. During her one-minute presentation she was explaining that her family's tradition is to remember the birth of Jesus at Christmas time.

The teacher interrupted her speech and told her to sit down because "she is not allowed to talk about the Bible in school."

The incident happened just one week after a teacher at another California school told a first-grader "Jesus is not allowed in school" when the student brought a candy cane with a religious message.
