The Walt Disney Company will begin cutting funding to the Boy Scouts of America in 2015 because of its ban on gay leaders.

Although the Boy Scouts lifted its policy on gay youth last year, a ban on gay adult leaders remains in place.

Disney does not give money directly to the Scouts but donates money in exchange for volunteer hours. The company has also given small grants to local troops and packs.

Meanwhile, the Boy Scouts expressed disappointment over the decision, saying it will affect the organization's ability to serve children.

"We believe every child deserves the opportunity to be a part of the Scouting experience and we are disappointed in this decision because it will impact our ability to serve kids," Deron Smith, a Boy Scouts spokesman, said.
