Double Standard Exposed in Colorado Cakes Case

The business of cake baking is highlighting Colorado's double standard in dealing with gay rights and religious rights.

When Christian bakery owner Jack Phillips declined to make a cake for a gay wedding citing his religious beliefs that marriage is between one man and one woman, he was sued.

In 2013, a judge ruled against Phillips, and then last year he was also ordered to take sensitivity training.

The Colorado Civil Rights Commission agreed with the ruling against him and imposed a series of fines.

But recently the same civil rights division rejected the case of a Christian customer who was denied service at another bakery.

That customer had requested a cake with a biblical message opposing same-sex marriage.

Officials have now rejected his complaint that he was discriminated against because of his beliefs.
