Christian rapper Lecrae was named Artist of the Year Tuesday night at the 46th annual Dove Awards.

Lecrae, 36, continues to bring new fans to the Christian genre, while also breaking the mold for gospel artists.

The Grammy-winning artist made history last year when his seventh album, titled "Anomaly," became the first to top billboard and gospel albums charts in the same week. It was indeed the first of its kind on many levels.

At the Dove Award ceremony in Nashville, Lecrae also won awards for rap/hip hop album of the year and rap/hip hop song of the year.
