Federal agents, SWAT teams, and police dogs are searching for three suspects in a deadly police shooting in northern Illinois.

Officer Charles Joseph Gliniewicz, a 32-year veteran of the police force, was shot to death during a foot chase Tuesday. Residents of the Fox Lake community are mourning the loss of the popular officer.

Meanwhile, a community in Texas is also mourning the loss of a police officer who was gunned down at a gas station.

One Texas pastor walked 24 miles as he prayed around the perimeter of the neighborhood where Deputy Darren Goforth was killed.

"They are all hurting right now. Their hearts are breaking over this tragedy," Kevin Pigg, pastor of Crossbridge Christian Church, told reporters. "And I am praying for their protection, their peace. I am praying for our boys in blue, for their protection and their peace."

Pastor Pigg has completed this walk four times in the past year.

Deputy Goforth's funeral is scheduled for Friday.
