Alveda King on Rewriting Civil Rights Act for LGBT

President Barack Obama says he will support legislation that would basically rewrite the Civil Rights Act to include lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights.

The LGBT community is asking for it to "safeguard" from sexual identity discrimination.

Those opposing it say there's a difference between "civil rights" and "gay rights."

CBN News' Lorie Johnson spoke with Dr. Alveda King, niece of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr., about the debate over whether they are the same.

Is the LGBT community's civil rights being violated? Do they have equal rights and are asking for extra rights?
