The last months of 7-year-old Kayleigh McClendon's life were filled with MRI's, chemotherapy, and countless nights in a hospital bed.

McClendon lost her long battle with brain cancer in November. Yet throughout the long, emotional fight, she remained a little girl of tremendous faith and courage.

Her faith touched the lives of her neighbors so much, they decided to do something special before she died.

Knowing she would never see Christmas this year, McClendon's parents strung up Christmas lights on their house early. This time all the lights were purple -- her favorite color. Soon the entire street chipped in lighting up the  neighborhood with McClendon's favorite color. It only took a few hours for all the local stores to sell out of purple lights.

They were just in time. McClendon passed away a few weeks later.

While the family is devastated that the will have to face the holidays without their daughter, they know she'll be spending this Christmas with Jesus.

"God granted Kayleigh perfect, beautiful peace," her mother 'Carrow wrote on the family's Prayers for Kaleigh Facebook page.  "She was not in pain. She was wrapped tightly in my arms with her Daddy by her side as she gently drew her last breath. God was so good to spare us from watching her struggle. And is she is in heaven. Dancing. Twirling. Laughing. Beautiful. Whole. Healthy."
