'The Voice' contestant Christian Cuevas gave it his all on the semifinals stage with a powerful performance of "To Worship You I Live" by Israel and New Breed.

The singer was never shy about his faith on the hit NBC show, and it was no different Monday night.

Cuevas graced the competition playing his guitar and singing a song of worship to the Lord. The simple song amazed the audience and many people even began to lift their hands in worship.  The special worship movement even moved one of the judges, Alicia Keys, to sing right along with him from her chair.

Cuevas finished the number with tears streaming down his face and overcome with emotion.

His rendition of the gospel song immediately sky rocketed to the top 10 overall. Even more, the video of his performance was uploaded on Youtube and has more than 1 million hits.

Commentators applaud him for choosing to lift up a song of worship during a national singing competition.

"His was beautiful, because of his willingness to proclaim his faith unto a generation that wants nothing to do with sanctification. Great job Christian," one commentor said.

"He wasn't up there performing, but worshiping! This was beautiful," another said.

Cueva's rendition even affected people who are not particularly religious or don't go to church.

"I'm not too religious but I believe in God. It was cool seeing people in the audience that weren't part of the performance singing and lifting their hands in worship," another commentor said.

Although he did not make it to the final round, Cuevas ended the competition with a heart of gratitude.

"So glad that I was able to share God with y'all," he tweeted after the performance.
