A shooting at a Florida nightclub left two dead and up to 17 others wounded. Gunfire erupted early Monday morning as parents were picking up their teenage children from a swimsuit party at a southwest Florida nightclub.

Police detained five people but it is still unclear who the shooter was or if there may have been more than one. The motivation behind the incident is also unclear at this time.

Police told Fox News the shooting is "definitely not terrorism." Lee County Sheriff's Office also issued a statement saying they were "actively canvassing the area looking for other persons who may be involved in the incident."

In a Facebook post, Club Blu said they were "deeply sorry for all involved."

"We tried to give the teens what we thought was a safe place to have a good time," the post read. "There was armed security as well as full security inside and out."

The shooting comes a little over a month after the terror attack at an Orlando nightclub that killed 49 and wounded 53.
