Two students at Abilene Christian University were expelled for a racist snapchat video making fun of black women.

The girl, who was white could be seen in the video with her face painted black, along with large, fake red lips.

With laughter in the background the girl can be heard in the video saying, "I am a strong black woman." The video also has text with the words "this is why black lives matters exists."

The snapchat video was recorded and uploaded to Twitter, that's when it suddenly went viral.

Students on Twitter gave instant reactions.

One person tweeted, "I want this person off my campus."

The school's Director of Multicultural Affairs, Prentice Ashford, says he was shocked to see the video released on Monday and that students with all races came to his office regarding the video.

"Yes we're mad, we're angry, but we have to do something so this doesn't happen again," Ashford said.

He said the University would expand its diversity outreach and work to increase awareness.

One student says he is hoping this isn't a sign of things to come.

"I couldn't really believe somebody here would actually do that," he said. "People think they're better because they're white? I see that from some people here but I don't think that is the majority."

The University's President released a statement on Monday.

"I cannot emphasize strongly enough that this kind of hurtful behavior has no place on our campus or on behalf of ACU. Whether on social media or in person, we must hold ourselves to high standards of accountability for what we publish or say," he said.

The two students dismissed for the incident are not being identified.
