Ed Moseley is warming heads and hearts with hundreds of hand-knitted hats for premature babies in critical care units.

When he isn't undergoing chemotherapy, Moseley is busy providing loving comfort to premature babies and their parents.

When Mosely, who lives in an assisted living facility in Georgia heard about the plan to knit caps for premature babies, he simply couldn't resist.

Although he'd never knitted before, he taught himself and others how to make the baby caps.

In the end, residents knitted more than 300 hats, which they donated to Atlanta's Northside Hospital.

"It's great to receive these wonderful gifts," said Linda Kelly, clinical manager at Northside Hospital's special care nursery. "Many times our families don't expect to be introduced to the special care nursery, so to have a gift left at the bedside, or a nurse put the hat on the little baby's head, makes it all seem less like a hospital."
