An 8-year-old boy from South Carolina went more than the extra mile to help someone in need. He went an extra 800 miles.

When little Kameron Smalls saw a picture of Ethan Comeaux , another 8-year-old boy who lost everything in the Louisiana floods in August, he wanted to do something to help.

Kameron went straight to his church and then throughout his community, including his local police department, looking for help.

In two months he raised about $4,000 in donations and a carload full of gifts. Then he and his mom, along with some South Carolina police officers, drove all the way to Louisiana to meet Ethan to make this special delivery.

"I thought to myself if I was Ethan and I got affected by the flood, I'd be sad. So I immediately wanted to help them," Kameron said.

"His follow through was so strong," Kameron's mother, Krystal, said. "He made sure that he had people backing him -- the Mount Pleasant Police Department, our local churches, our community, family, friends, he made sure everybody was involved."

Ethan and his mother, Whitney, were grateful for unexpected gifts.

"I got toys, stuffed animals, and blankets!" little Ethan exclaimed.

"There are still good people out there," Ethan's mother said. "These are amazing people and they're raising a fine young man."

Kameron remarked, "When you do good things it makes you feel good and when you do things for others God will bless you."
