U.S. District Court Judge Michael Urbanski said he won't lift his injunction barring a county board from opening meetings with sectarian prayers.

The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors argues the injunction should be removed, pointing to the Supreme Court's recent decision to uphold prayers at town board meetings in Greece, New York.

Urbanski said the situations are different and the Pittsylvania County Board should not be able to dictate the content of the prayers.

He said he can't modify the injunction while the appeal is pending before the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
