The public has spoken. Moviegoers want more Christian-themed films.

The new faith-based film "Son of God" was a huge success at the box office this weekend, earning $26.5 million.

It finished opening weekend a close second behind "Non-Stop," starring actor Liam Neeson. Analysts said with numbers like these, Hollywood is sure to make more religious-themed movies.

Two more Bible stories are also hitting theaters this year. "Noah," starring Russell Crowe, opens March 28 and actor Christian Bale will play Moses in "Exodus," which opens in December.
