The United States moved into the top slot at the Sochi Olympics, with 23 medals overall Thursday morning.

Russia and the Netherlands were next with 22 apiece.

While most tourists are in Sochi to cheer on their country's teams, some, like Marc Hooks with International Mission Board, are there with a higher goal: to spread the Gospel.

Hooks is the Olympics event coordinator and co-director for the program Engage Sochi.

"We want something that is a multi-tiered approach," he explained. "And what we're talking about is not just the fortnight of Olympic competition in Sochi; we're talking about reaching the people of Sochi before, during and after the games."

Hooks talked more about Engage Sochi on CBN News Today, Feb. 20.
