Twenty rockets were found hidden in a vacant United Nations school in the Gaza strip.

The UN Relief and Works Agency found them and is now condemning those responsible, saying it shows blatant disrespect for international law.

"Yesterday, in the course of the regular inspection of its premises, UNRWA discovered approximately 20 rockets hidden in a vacant school in the Gaza Strip," the agency said.

"UNRWA strongly condemns the group or groups responsible for placing the weapons in one of its installations," it continued. "This is a flagrant violation of the inviolability of its premises under international law."

The UN further warned, "At all times, and especially for escalations violence, the sanctity and integrity of UN installations must be respected."

Officials say the incident was the first of its kind, warning the stash "endangered civilians and staff working to assist refugees in Gaza."
