North Korea has detained another American tourist who's been identified as 56-year-old Jeffrey Edward Fowle, a Christian from Ohio.

North Korea's state-run Korean Central News Agency reported the detention on Friday, saying the tourist entered North Korea on April 29 and "perpetrated activities that violated the laws of our republic, which did not fit his stated purpose of visiting our republic as a tourist."

Some reports say he may have left a Bible in his hotel room, but a spokesman for his family said he was not there on a mission for his church.

Fowle is the third United States citizen to be detained in North Korea.
