Patients waited more than a week to see their doctor in the United Kingdom nearly 50 million times last year.

The finding was reported in the London Telegraph, citing a study from the Royal College of General Practitioners.

Some patients experienced medical delays running up to a month.

The paper said senior doctors are warning about the growing demands of the aging population and some fear missing a major illness because of their workload.
