Facebook Call to Prayer Helps Find Baby Missing After Terror Attack
When Pastor Rebecca Boulanger saw a Facebook post about a baby boy missing in the aftermath of the attack in Nice, she immediately launched a prayer campaign.
"I couldn't do much because I was home with my own baby, but because I'm a pastor and I grew up in Nice, I decided to use my large social network to help," Boulanger told The Huffington Post.
She was home with her husband when she saw a friend’s post urging people to be on the lookout for a less-than year old child who was separated from his parents in the panic of the terror attack.
Yohlaine Ramasitera posted an image with the young child saying: "If you see this child: CONTACT ME," adding that he was sitting in a blue stroller.
Pastor Boutanger shared Ramasitera's photo saying: "VERY IMPORTANT: In the rush of things with shots being fired some friends of our friends lost their baby boy!!! a 8-10 month old beautiful baby."
She asked her Facebook friends to pray in agreement that the baby would be found. She also said, "Pray for the safety of all still out there and wisdom for our police forces to shut down this attack!"
She later edited the post after the baby was found and returned to his family saying:
"Baby has been found!! A lady took him in, the family is on their way to get him right now ! THANK YOU SO MUCH for your prayers !!!"
"I really believe that technology can be good and used to share hope and to encourage people during this very traumatic time," Ramasitera said.
She called this outcome "a miracle."
"It's in the darkest hour that our light must shine brighter," she said. "As followers of Jesus, we need to make sure that people are reminded that love wins and that if we give into fear and give into hatred, then it's not going to help anyone."
"Hatred will only breed more hatred and that's not what this country needs."
