Priest Reported to be 'Crucified' May Be Alive
There are reports a video demanding millions of dollars in return for an Indian priest kidnapped in Yemen has been sent to the Indian government.
It suggests Father Tom Uzhunnalil, who was reported crucified on Good Friday, may still be alive.
The ransom video reportedly shows Uzhannalil, 56, asking for help while a man stands behind him, according to India's IBN-CNN News.
IBN-CNN also reports the Indian government is "in touch with several local agencies" to rescue the priest, and are in contact with a Catholic Church ambassador to "dispel unconfirmed reports of crucifixion."
Many websites, including Christian Post, World Net Daily, Newsmax and Newsweek, reported that Uzhannalil had been "crucified" on Good Friday, even though there had been no solid confirmation from Uzhannalil's religious order, from Yemeni authorities or from ISIS.
The source of the crucifixion story was Christoph Cardinal Schonborn, the Catholic Archbishop of Vienna, who has since backtracked.
Father Uzhunnalil was kidnapped from a home for the elderly run by Mother Teresa's Missionaries for Charity in Aden, Yemen, on March 4.
