Gunmen opened fire on a Kenya church Sunday outside the coastal city of Mombasa, killing three people and wounding at least 10.

Officials said three attackers entered the Joyland Church during services and opened fire on the congregation.

Nearby police responded swiftly, but the killers got away.
    
Muslim-Christian tensions are high in Kenya and many churches and Christian ministers have been attacked in recent years.
    
Kenya borders Somalia, where the Islamic militant group Al-Shabab is persecuting Christians.
