US-Allied Force Claims Another Major Victory Over the Islamic State

In a major victory over the weekend, US-allied forces said they have captured Syria's largest oil field from Islamic State terrorists.

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces are in a race with Russian-backed Syrian troops to seize parts of the oil-rich Deir el-Zour province. And now the SDF is in full control of the Al-Omar field there.

The field was estimated to produce around 9,000 barrels a day, making it a key source of revenue for the terrorists.

ISIS has suffered major setbacks in recent weeks, even being driven from the headquarters of their caliphate in the Syrian city of Raqqa.

Facing defeat across the region, ISIS terrorists have retaliated by killing more innocent civilians.

The bodies of at least 67 people have been found in one Syrian town that was once Islamic State territory.

Syrian troops and allied militias regained control of Qaryatayn, in Homs province, but quickly discovered what ISIS had done.

Some civilians were shot in the street as ISIS retreated from the town.

The death toll is expected to rise.

The Britain-based Syrian observatory for human rights documented the killings of at least 128 people killed during the last days of ISIS control of the town.
