Clean and Lean Life

IT’S NOT JUST CUTTING BACK
Processed foods are everywhere and eating foods with synthetic ingredients disrupts how our bodies function.  Dr. Ian says clean-eating makes all the difference in how our bodies work.  In our modern culture, many people have lost touch with what real food is, how good it can taste and what our bodies are capable of with just a little effort that he believes can fit into any daily routine.  Dr. Ian says clean eating is steering clear of processed foods.  “Food preservatives are natural or man-made chemicals that are added to food to stop them from spoiling,” he says.  Eating foods that are free from chemicals is “clean.”  Dr. Ian adds intermittent fasting, or eating only between certain hours of the day, to take clean eating to the next level.  He says research shows that people found their weight loss improved more and they experienced decreased inflammation, reduced belly fat, improved asthma-related symptoms, reduced insulin resistance and preserved learning/memory function.

There are time restricted feeding schedules for example, from 7-10 am and then from 8 pm – 10 am.  “Intermittent fasting does not mean you can simply eat whatever you want or how much you want during feeding times and still lose weight,” says Dr. Ian. Soe of the biggest keys of his plan include: no soda, only freshly squeeze juice, only canned or frozen vegetables that don’t contain any artificial ingredients, unlimited water, no added sugar, no artificial sweetners, no MSG, dairy is allowed, fresh fruits and vegetables, no fried foods, no white flour, etc.  Some of his 30 Clean & Lean foods include: Organic turkey bacon, brown rice, organic corn or 100% wheat tortillas, nuts, kale, chickpeas, cheese, pork chops, grass-fed anti-biotic free beef, eggs, sushi, and fresh fish.  Average weight loss on his program is 15 pounds in 30 days.
