IT Operations Project Coordinator

Application Services – Virginia Beach, VA

This position is responsible for coordinating multiple simultaneous projects that cross multiple business domains.  The individual will be responsible for capturing, tracking and coordinating the work of key resources in a matrixed environment through effective project planning, risk identification, change management, issue resolution and communications.

This role is responsible for coordinating with other project teams and for representing the operations projects to the PMO.

In addition to project tracking and coordination, the candidate will be responsible for implementation and oversight of key IT processes including communication, change control, documentation management, knowledge management and compliance.  Responsible for developing solutions to process inefficiencies, redesigning processes to keep up with changes, and partnering with the IT teams in setting process improvement goals and execution plans.  This individual will be challenged with communicating with multiple stakeholders with varying IT needs and translating those needs into a common set of business requirements to support the implementation of enterprise level processes and common business rules.

The candidate must be able to interact and communicate easily with technical staff, business managers and executives.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in Information Technology
  • Experience with structured project management methodologies
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a matrix environment a strong plus
  • Proven ability to build customer relationships and develop strategies to respond to customer needs
  • System development lifecycle experience with both custom development and package integration
  • Experience with Business Process Modeling practices and techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team-oriented environment
  • Experience with the introduction of new technologies and standards in an unstructured environment
  • Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and IT practices
