Senior Project Manager

Information Technology – Virginia Beach, VA

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its team of IT professionals.  This position is responsible for managing projects involving the development, deployment and support of CRM solutions at CBN. This includes our global ministries through CBN International and Operation Blessing, as well as other domestic CBN functions. This position is responsible for managing multiple simultaneous projects that cross multiple business domains.  Project ownership accountability will span the entire life cycle from feasibility to closure.  This individual will be responsible for successful delivery of projects on time, within scope and within budget. Responsibilities include coordinating and directing the work of key performers in a matrixed environment through effective project planning and management, risk identification, change management, issue resolution and communications.  

This individual must be able to interact and communicate easily with technical developers, business managers and executives. They will be challenged to determine and influence the right decisions that balance short term demands and long term business and technology goals.  The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated project management and process management experience in a progressively expanding role. The candidate must be able to build solid relationship with project sponsors, business leads and partners as required. The candidate should possess the capability to independently influence projects including core team development, project approach development, identification and resolution of project issues and risks, and management to expected performance within triple constraints. 
The successful candidate will possess a proven, successful track record in the following areas:

  • Minimum 5-10 years experience in Information Technology.
  • Experience with multiple structured project management methodologies.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience performing as an Agile Coach / Scrum Master a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to build customer relationships and develop strategies to respond to customer needs.
  • System development lifecycle experience with both custom development and package integration.
  • Experience with Business Process Modeling practices and techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and facilitate appropriate solutions under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team-oriented environment, mentoring and supporting additional IT team members.
  • Experience with the introduction of new technologies and standards in an unstructured environment.
  • Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and IT practices.
  • Working knowledge of digital media, consumer services, marketing, and non-profit fundraising business models. 
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM software desired, other CRM and marketing technologies a strong plus.
  • Proven ability as a motivator and mentor.
