The spread of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo is now the second-largest outbreak ever recorded. More than 11,000 people are dead according to the World Health Organization, but aid groups estimate the death toll is much higher. Efforts to combat the epidemic have been slowed down and even stalled because of attacks on treatment centers and on health workers.
