Take Revenge in Prayer

CBN.com Have you ever been angry at the devil for the things that are going on in your life? Maybe you have a prodigal child, or an unsaved spouse, or a loved-one who struggles with some sort of addiction. Doesn’t the enemy make you mad sometimes?

There is such a thing as righteous anger. It’s o.k. to get mad at the devil.

What is the best way to respond to these attacks of the enemy? Through humbling ourselves in prayer, praise and worship.

Prayer and worship are our weapons of spiritual warfare. In the Revelation, John writes that we, the Saints of God, have authority to conquer Satan:

“…for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.  11 "And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.” ( , NASB)

The Holy Spirit, through Paul, tells us that we don’t fight people – but nevertheless, we do fight. And our fight is a spiritual battle:

2 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hostsof wickedness in the heavenly places.  ( , NKJV)

So how are we to obtain victory in this spiritual battle? Paul gives us the answer in the next verse.

13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. ( , NKJV)

There are hurting people all around us who struggle with the ravages of life apart from God. They are lost, alone, desperate, and they have exhausted the sin spectrum. God has called his followers to be a beacon of light to not only reach out to these lonely people, but also to equip other believers with tools to reach them for Christ in their communities.

Let’s enter into the spiritual battle through prayer, praise and worship to see the enemy defeated and the captives set free. So take your revenge on the devil today in prayer, because:

The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. ( b, NASB)
