Tis' the season for spring cleaning. It's quite energizing to rid your home of all the gunk that has accumulated over the last year.

The same can be said for our bodies. Occasionally it can be appropriate to undergo a physical cleanse, also called a detox.

Dr. Deanna Minich, author of "Whole Detox," describes why she believes a 21-day cleanse is superior to popular three-day programs.

She adds that the detox program she developed can help people lose weight, resists disease and even improve emotional health.
